Founder John Ahern: A Career Dedicated to Public Safety
John Ahern is a retired NYPD Lieutenant with over 30 years of distinguished service in the New York City Police Department. Throughout his decorated career, John held leadership positions in the patrol services bureau, the detective bureau, and the internal affairs bureau, gaining invaluable experience in nearly every facet of law enforcement, investigation, and crisis management.
From commanding police details at major city events to leading complex criminal investigations, John’s career was defined by a commitment to public safety, integrity, and methodical police work. After retiring from the force, he founded Ahern Protection Group with a singular mission: to bring that same level of professionalism, expertise, and dedication to the private sector.
John’s vision was to create a security and investigations firm that was different. One where every client, regardless of size, receives guidance from seasoned professionals with proven, real-world experience. Today, he serves as the firm’s CEO, personally overseeing our services and ensuring that our work is always guided by the principles of honor, integrity, and a relentless commitment to our clients’ safety and peace of mind.
